Parents are regarded as members of our setting who have full participatory rights and we recognise parents as the first and most important educators of their children and so aim to work in partnership with parents in all aspects of their child’s care and education.
There are many ways in which parents take part in making St Cuthbert’s Pre-school a welcoming and stimulating place for children and parents, such as:
Children in our care are regularly observed, detailed notes are made regarding their progress, activities are then planned to meet the needs of the individual children thus supporting their development. Our staff aim to work closely with you by regularly discussing and sharing information about your child’s needs, activities, interests and development in order for them to reach their full potential.
A comprehensive programme of feedback and communication is in place. This includes:
Parents coming into Pre-school are encouraged to share their own special interests and skills with the children;
Taking part in events and informal discussions about the activities and curriculum provided by us;
Encouraging parents to participate in any Pre-school outings that take place.
Joining in community activities and
Building friendships with other parents in the setting.
In order to keep you better informed about what your child is learning at Pre- school, our planned activities are emailed to parents each week.
We also have a closed Facebook Group for parents which allows us to share news and updates on a regular basis.
